Last year I started working on a fic called 'Cabin on the top of the mountain', as it was one thing I put on the 2025 bingo for myself. This year I didn't directly plan to work on it, but just kept it for the 'free space' place in mind, mostly since I did complete the goal for it then. However, last week, I outlined a haseli fic mentioned in this post. It's set in the same universe as the one I worked on last year, just focusing on a different ship and the events of it come after the haseli fic. It got me more into brainstorming and working on some details, a good thing since I do believe my writing would benefit from some planning over just going with the flow when it comes to longer fics with more chapters.
Because of this, I realized it would probably be a good thing to form out a family tree. As a lot of the characters in idv that are used in this AU are based off of gods from Cthulhu mythos, I thought it would be good to properly mark who is who and their relationship for when everyone starts inrteracting with one another.
It looks a bit messy, but that's because the mythos are messy in general, so additional gods that aren't mentioned in the idv verse are here purely for properly figuring this out.
I've also taken some liberties due to lack of in-game information on the Eye of Darkness, the god that's connected to Alva. Since his overall description does seem to fit one that is often associated with an avatar of Nyarlathotep, I went with Alva just being him, and taking a human name to use when walking the human world.
The stories is also going to have a lot more element of the Cthulhu mythos than I originally though they would have. I guess that comes with the fact that I've been mentally working on these in my head since 2023
Now on the actual stories: I have plans for 3 main longer works, all featuring three different main ships: Hastur/Eli, Jack/Ithaqua and Alva/Luca. I will be focusing on the haseli fic now since it's the first one and the only one I have everything outlined for the story so far, but I will be working on the jackitha one on and off as I do have the 1st chapter of it finished.
I don't expect to finish this by the end of the year, but I do feel like having more stuff to work on the side without posting it right away is good for the creative muscle.
